Best and Worst of e.l.f. Cosmetics
When it comes to affordable makeup, e.l.f. Cosmetics is one of the first brands that comes to mind. Over the years, I’ve tried my fair share of e.l.f. products—some that totally wowed me and others that didn’t live up to the hype.
In this post, I’m breaking down the best and worst products I’ve tried from e.l.f., sharing my thoughts on what’s worth adding to your routine and what you might want to avoid.
Liquid Poreless Putty Primer
Finally, a primer that smooths the skin without drying it out—perfect for dry skin! It applies smoothly, reduces the look of pores, and helps my makeup last for hours!
Hydrating Face Primer
This primer is a solid choice for dry skin, offering a refreshed look and prepping your face for makeup. It’s available in this smaller size as well as a larger option for $10. While it’s ideal for drier skin, it might not be the best for oily skin.
Hydrating Camo Concealer
This concealer is one of the best in the drugstore category! It delivers high coverage with a natural satin finish and stays in place all day. While this hydrating formula is great for dry skin, there’s also a standard version suited for normal or oily skin types.
Halo Glow Setting Powder
This powder feels very lightweight on the skin and does a great job blurring pores and fine lines without looking cakey! Plus, the finish gives a soft glow— just enough to look fresh without adding shine.
Primer-Infused Matte Bronzer
This is a go-to drugstore option for those seeking a natural-looking bronzer! It’s easy to apply and wears well throughout the day! That said, the color payoff is on the lighter side, so it may take a few layers to build up.
Primer-Infused Matte Blush
This blush is a must-have in my collection! It’s not only affordable but also delivers fantastic results, with great pigmentation that stays all day long!
Bite-Size Eyeshadow Palette
This palette has been a favorite of mine for years! The pigmentation is spot-on, and the shadows blend effortlessly, making it perfect for a variety of eye looks. It’s compact, travel-friendly, and incredibly affordable—best part? It’s just $3!
Fine as Fleck Glitter Eyeshadow
This eyeshadow stands out for its gorgeous shimmer and versatility! It adds just the right amount of sparkle without feeling overpowering. While I do wish it had a bit more color payoff, it’s still a great, easy-to-use product!
No Budge Retractable Eyeliner
This liner is super convenient and great for daily use! It stays in place nicely, but I’ve noticed the texture and pigmentation aren’t always consistent.
Clear Brow & Lash Mascara
I really like using this as a clear brow gel—it’s simple, affordable, and keeps my brows in place all day without feeling stiff or sticky!
Glow Reviver Lip Oil
I love this lip oil for its glossy finish that adds all the shine without the stickiness. The nourishing ingredients make my lips feel comfortable and hydrated, and the minty scent is a great bonus! The only drawback is that it can sometimes leak, making a bit of a mess.
Squeeze Me Lip Balm
This lip balm is one of my top favorites thanks to the glossy finish and smooth feeling it has without any stickiness, and the fun scents make it even better (shoutout: Vanilla Frosting!) It layers beautifully with other lip products too!
